“Work is for man, not man for work.” — Pope St. John Paul II
Work is ubiquitous and an inescapable part of the human condition. When we work, we can participate in the creative act and bring order to chaos. However, work is just one aspect of a rightly ordered life. In our secular society, especially here in the Bay Area, work is often considered either the number-one priority in many people’s lives or something to be avoided altogether.
Join the St. Raymond Young Adult Ministry as we kick off an 8-week small group reading and discussion series exploring the role and purpose of work. We will start with the first book of Genesis and read selections from the Old Testament, the New Testament, the writings of Doctors of the Church, Papal Encyclicals, and 20th century Catholic philosophers and saints. No prior reading is required. If possible, please bring a Bible.
