St Vincent de Paul

Every week St. Raymond Vincentians, in teams of two, visit

the needy in our community – in their homes, apartments, RV’s or shelters – helping our neighbors to overcome extremely challenging, real-life hardships, many life-threatening. Through these home visits, the Society provides food, clothing, rental and other housing assistance, utility assistance, furniture, other household items, and friendship to our neighbors in need.

Through the San Mateo district office, the society operates three Homeless Help Centers and five retail stores that provide goods to the needy. The Society annually serves over 100,000 free meals throughout the county. Society members visit the incarcerated in jail and later help them transition to life outside of prison. The Society also provides support for crime victims and their families.

In short, the St. Vincent de Paul Society is responding directly to Jesus’ call in Matthew 25: “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.”

Donations can be placed in the collection baskets, dropped by the Parish Office, or can be made online.
