Youth Mission Trip Recap #1
July 4, 2026
“My mission trip with our church to the Eastern Shore of Virginia was one of the best experiences of my life. I was so excited for the trip that I even convinced some of my friends to come with me. Even though I was nervous too, I kept reassuring them because I prayed that everything would be okay, and God definitely took care of us.
During the week, we served migrant workers in many different ways, attended Spanish Mass, and connected with people through our shared faith. Even though we did not all speak the same language, God’s love brought us together. Seeing the impact we had on the migrants and the joy they shared with us made me realize that serving others is one of the most important things I am called to do as a Catholic. When we serve others, we are also serving Christ.
I also felt so loved throughout the entire trip. The friendships I made felt more like family, and I know those relationships will stay with me for a long time. We also had Adoration and meaningful conversations that challenged me to grow in my faith and helped me become closer to God.
Overall, this mission trip changed me in the best way. It strengthened my faith, helped me understand my purpose as a Catholic, and reminded me that even small acts of kindness can make a big difference. It is an experience I will always be grateful for.”
